Restaurants

Chez René was founded in 1957 by Adrienne and René CINQUIN, originally from Emeringes in the Beaujolais region. On the border between the Lyonnais bouchon and the Parisian bistro, a traditional gourmet address that has become a must in the Latin Quarter.

Our favourite dishes: minute beef tartare and boeuf bourguignon

Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday for lunch and dinner, Friday and Sunday for lunch only. Closed on Mondays.

Parisian art-deco brasserie since 1913. Cuisine prepared daily using fresh produce. Seafood, sauerkraut and fish specialities. Traditional French cuisine.

Our favorite dishes: Andouillette with mustard sauce and pan-fried entrecôte with button mushrooms.

Open 7 days a week from midday to 11.30pm without interruption.

With the majestic nave of the Gare de Lyon, Le Train Bleu brings the Belle Epoque of sumptuous rail travel back to fine palates. This restaurant was built in 1900 for the Universal Exhibition to dazzle the 50 million visitors. Fashionable architect Marius Toudoire was commissioned to create the frescoes, along with 27 renowned painters. High society and top artists soon flocked here: Alain Delon, Brigitte Bardot, Coco Chanel, Salvador Dali…

Worth seeing: the old counter with its cash register and the ornamental frescoes.

Our favorite dishes: leg of lamb, baba bouchon and crêpe Suzette.

Open daily for lunch and dinner

Located in the Sentier district of Paris, La Jaja is a tiny 15 m2 bar where regulars, locals and gangs of friends gather. Ceiling moldings, a fireplace and a large mirror add a touch of cachet to this sumptuous setting, where chatter goes on and on. At La Jaja, the price of consos is not exorbitant, and they are often drunk standing at the corner of a table in the small pedestrian street.

Our favorites: Pugliese burrata and shepherd’s pie

Open every evening except Monday

Daroco is an Italian trattoria offering refined cuisine. From pasta made on site to the best pizza in Paris by chef Federico Schiavon, maestro of classic trattoria dishes. Wash it down with a glass of Italian wine, a cocktail by Nico de Soto or a craft beer sipped against a backdrop of lively playlists by the Spectre collective.

Our favourites: FORMAGGISSIMA pizza and real Tiramisu

Open daily for lunch and dinner at both addresses.

Visits & outings

Created in 1996, Astier de Villatte has many facets:

  • The only ceramics workshop of its kind in Paris, this workshop revives and modernizes the tradition of 18th-century Parisian factories, bringing the art of stamping up to date.
  • A letterpress printing plant on the outskirts of Paris, the last in France (and one of the last in the world) to print books with lead.
  • A publishing house, with three first publications, the atypical guide Ma Vie à Paris, the art book Drawings with multi-talented artist Lou Doillon, and now the new edition of Balthus’s Mitsou.
  • A perfume creation workshop where, in collaboration with exceptional noses, eaux de cologne, skincare products, incense, gums and a whole collection of scented candles are invented on the theme of an olfactory world tour.

A designer inspired by the elements of nature, James Heeley’s spontaneous, organic approach gradually led him to the world of fragrance. It was in France, through his creative work, that the young Englishman discovered the way perfumes are composed and their codes.

One of his first fragrances, Menthe Fraîche (2006), is an exercise in style: from an apparently simple yet difficult-to-interpret ingredient, mint becomes contemporary, elegant and easy to wear. With time and experience, delicate, fresh scents have been joined by more intense constructions such as Cardinal and Esprit du Tigre, as well as olfactory landscapes like Sel Marin and Hippie Rose, right up to the latest Extraits de Parfum collection.

Tsé & Tsé associés is a French design house which, since its launch in 1991, has remained one of the few independent design companies. It was founded by two Parisian designers, Sigolène Prébois and Catherine Lévy. Prototypes are made in their Bastille workshop in Paris, where certain parts are adapted to specific customer requirements. Every item requires a search for quality manufacturers. The choice of noble materials emphasizes craftsmanship, quality and durability. As a result, lamps, tableware and furniture are produced in small batches, sometimes individually, and rarely in quantities exceeding 1,000 pieces per year. No two pieces are exactly alike, and these differences are a sign of the originality of Tsé & Tsé products.

Capsule of eco-friendly shoes and bags made from recycled and overcycled materials.

We are proud to present Pierre Hardy’s “Planet” collection, a range of iconic products manufactured with sustainability in mind. Our commitment to ethical practices and the environment has led us to rethink every detail and every step of the creative process, ensuring that every product in this collection embodies our values.

Pierre Hardy’s design studio has adopted a unique approach to sustainability. We have teamed up with our historical suppliers and manufacturers to recycle the House’s leather stocks, recycle with regenerated nylon and select vegetable-tanned leather. Every part and material, including the lining, outsoles, laces, straps, etc., has been chosen with care and consideration for the environment.

Ofr. bookshop is so open to the world that it spills out onto the sidewalk. On Rue Dupetit-Thouars, the books spread out on the tables on either side of the entrance give an idea of what awaits customers behind the window: ultra-fashion magazines, hyper-focused design magazines, English, American, Italian, Korean, Brazilian and other lifestyle publications.

Renowned as “the coolest bookshop in Paris”, Ofr. is unique in that it federates a community of loyal followers from far and wide, as well as fans who can be found on site or on Instagram (46.2K followers).

Every fashion week proves the point: the Marais address, opened in 2007, attracts influencers and fashionistas from all over the world, eager to feed off the best source to expand their image bank and broaden their ideas.

Restaurants

Le Mermoz is a neo-bistro housed in a former bistro in Paris’s 8th arrondissement – mosaic floors, J-shaped zinc, Art Deco chandeliers. Californian chef Thomas Graham delights with his warm, precise cuisine. From appetizer to dessert, it combines comforting dishes with surprising flavors. Let yourself be tempted by this creative cuisine, with incredible graphics on every dish. The must-try: squash stuffed with chestnuts.

Open Monday to Friday, noon to 2.30pm and 7pm to midnight.

Le Calife is a boat-cruise with meals included, where the boat is located under the Pont des Arts opposite the Louvre. Dine or lunch under the Paris skyline, in the historic heart of the City of Light with its ornate monuments. Enjoy gourmet French dishes while admiring Paris and its monuments. Boarding is either at 12:15pm for lunch, or at 8:15pm for dinner. A 2-hour gastronomic cruise!

Just a stone’s throw from Rex on Boulevard de Bonne Nouvelle, the Rosie Lou brasserie shines with a thousand lights.
Rosie Lou is a convivial moment on the Atlantic coast, a desire to pronounce the word chocolatine and drink Jurançon.
Seating for 130, a festive mezzanine that can be made private, cuisine inspired by the South West (we love you, Maïté!) and the sea, a sharp cocktail bar and great little bottles are the original recipe for this brasserie.
Nota bene, a reduced ticket for theaters is available, so please book in advance.

Bakery with a wide selection of pastries, sandwiches and more, including quiche, ham and cheese croissants, giant meringue, pain au chocolat, croissants, macaroons, palmiers, Saint-Honoré and many more. If you’re looking to buy pastries and desserts that are as beautiful as they are delicious, this is the place!

Perfect for a few treats for late-night snacks in the apartment or for breakfast.

Quaint veggie restaurant on the quayside, a stone’s throw from Place du Châtelet. Maslow is a vast 120-cover loft, with white walls, orange banquettes like the revolutions and progressive appetite in all its words when it summons up local, regenerative, organic, sustainable agriculture, “low impact”, concern for allergens, employee well-being and responsible, self-proclaimed virtuous cuisine that refuses meat and fish. A good address for all vegans (and others too), you’ll love the vegetables!

Our good plans – August 2023

Restaurants

Pink Mamma is a large, warm 4-storey trattoria with a Garden of Eden feel, where meat is Firenze style. But the recipe is pure Tuscan tradition. In fact, over there, they always say that if the steak is no thicker than three fingers, it’s a carpaccio. It’s also said that it’s forbidden to order a bistecca alla fiorentina without a glass of Chianti Riserva. For the less carnivorous, no worries, we’ve kept other wonders for you on the menu, between antipasti, pizza and pasta, many of our dishes are vegetarian!

Paul Boudier and Albert Touton, two Chateaubriand alumni, offer tasty, no-frills cuisine with unbeatable value for money! A pure bistro menu: velouté, pureed sausage, gourmet crumble, to be enjoyed in a retro setting (zinc counter and imitation leather benches) and a most convivial atmosphere… We can’t resist the call of the maquis!

Our golden rule: consume more responsibly by cooking only seasonal produce. It’s better for the taste and better for the planet. 100% homemade! There’s 0 fraud here: we do everything our own way, in a joyful, good-humored atmosphere. Mayo, rillettes, even bisques and meat juices… we cook everything ourselves. Defending the French art of living is first and foremost a question of selecting the right stuff. Whenever possible, we source our products locally, if not a little further afield, but never across the border. To serve you quality products, we give priority to short circuits, working directly with around fifty producers, all of whom are committed to sustainable agriculture.

Jones’ recipe is to reinvent his stoves according to the chef’s taste… Refurbished with old materials (broken tiles, blond wood counter, stones stripped on purpose), the bistrattoria fits him like a boot… with high talent! A la carte: crousti arancini cacio e pepe plucked from Olympus; a Caesar for the best salad, featuring radishes, pink and red radicchio, and orange segments drenched in vinegar and orange blossom; bucatini alla puttanesca with a metaphysical umami, combining olive pesto, capers, anchovies, tomatoes and chilli; before a finale between dessert and cheese, in the form of a sweet pear-oseilla sorbet, poached pear, sorrel leaves and a shower of pecorino.

You’d have to be pretty darn curious, and a little adventurous, to find this Jaja in the back of his little courtyard, well away from the crowds on rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie. A small urban garden, a back door, a secret haven… It’s a piece of countryside in the heart of Paris. It’s a delight to come here and lounge on the miniature terrace or under the large, old-fashioned glass roof to savor Eduardo Gonzalez’s chic bistro cuisine, oscillating between revisited classics, flaky dishes and generous, creative platters, with the freshest organic and artisanal produce arriving daily for seasonal suggestions. The fine wine list, with its 80 references and ten or so grands crus served by the glass, is a delight for jaja lovers.

A little extra : you can even privatize the beautiful vaulted room in the basement, where up to 25 people can share large oak tables, for evenings out with friends, or celebrate a birthday and have a ball.

Visits & outings

  • Jardin du Palais Royal – 43 rue de Valois, 75001 Paris

The Royal Palace Garden is the ideal park for an invigorating stroll. Discover magnificent lime trees and red chestnut trees planted in the early 20th century, and stroll between the arcades surrounding the park. A little further on, in the main courtyard of the Palais-Royal, we discover two of Paris’ most popular contemporary artworks: Buren’s columns and Pol Bury’s mobile fountains.

The Bibliothèque nationale de France is without doubt one of Paris’s most famous landmarks. We could spend all day under the impressive glass roof of the oval room, so dreamy is this place. Here you can enjoy free access to a series of exceptional collections and follow in the footsteps of great intellectuals such as Simone de Beauvoir and Hannah Arendt.

For a snack, head to the temple of chocolate! Upstairs from Alain Ducasse’s chocolate counter is the Salon des Manufactures, one of the district’s best-kept secrets. Here, you can sample Alessandro Lucassino’s sweet creations, such as the iconic chocolate soufflé or the revisited lemon meringue tart. Ending our tour on a deliciously sweet note.

The bud is large: a 9-hectare park, a pond adorned with contemporary art, a dreamlike undergrowth, and a hangar where the world’s first airship took to the skies. Just 30 minutes by public transport from the Eiffel Tower, Hangar Y has opened its doors. In this new hybrid space on the edge of the Meudon forest, the arts, daydreaming and science come together. You can also enjoy lunch at the waterside restaurant Perchoir Y or party in its guinguette. It’s time to take a nap in the grass, stroll through the undergrowth to unearth the works of art hidden there, and finish the journey with a soaring exhibition of flying machines. If you’re looking for fresh air, Hangar Y is just the place.

  • Stroll along the Canal Saint-Martin

Take a stroll along the Canal Saint-Martin in Paris. Charming 4.5 km-long artificial canal with locks and bridges. Relax in the picturesque cafés along the banks. Today, the Canal Saint-Martin has become a popular place for Parisians and visitors to relax, stroll and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

You can start your stroll from the Place de la République, a lively spot and popular gathering point for Parisians. This stroll along the Canal Saint-Martin allows you to discover a different aspect of Paris, far from the major tourist attractions, while offering you a peaceful, authentic experience in the heart of Parisian life. Take your time to explore the area and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this emblematic district of the French capital.
